Physiotherapy is invasive or non- invasive

Today's world and from the past we are getting the vibes always like if the physiotherapy is invasive or non-invasive.

This is a topic of long discussion and a clear cut decision can't be made on the basis of the points laid by both the view holders.

Physiotherapy basically deals in orthopedic problem cardiogenic problems and neurological problem apart from that a very small size of surgeries and rehabilitation is there, where physiotherapy can provide a great help.

Few day back I was discussing with a group of therapists if we should go for acupuncture dry needling or not.

One group of physiotherapists are against the use of acupuncture and needling in the due course of physiotherapy. According to them the physiotherapy should not have dry needling and acupuncture in the course as these are invasive techniques and according to them physiotherapy is completely a non-invasive procedure or therapy. Going into the basic definition of for physiotherapy it clearly says that it is non- invasive. And we should always be remain at non-invasive processes like our modalities by the use of heat Ray's, waves and currents. Manual therapy should be there as a inevitable part of physiotherapy.

What the second group of physiotherapist was in favor of use of invasive techniques like acupuncture dry needling also. This group claimed itself a progressive physiotherapist group. According to them physiotherapy should grow now and include these invasive techniques also in order to get quick relief from the pains like muscle pain myofibrilgia and trigger point related pains.

First duty of a physiotherapist is to get a patient relieved from the pain. And these therapies help a lot in relieving pain by giving immediate effect so there is no harm to take help of these inversive techniques to relieve the mankind from pain.

And they are in favor if there are new rules need to be created in medical practice they should be there.
